Negative Air Machine
Equipment that creates negative pressure in contained areas.
Definition
A negative air machine is specialized equipment that creates negative air pressure within a contained work area. It continuously exhausts air from the containment through HEPA filters, causing outside air to flow inward through any gaps. This negative pressure prevents contaminated air (containing mold spores, asbestos fibers, or other hazardous particles) from escaping the work area. Negative air machines are essential for proper containment during mold remediation and other hazardous material removal.
