Hydroxyl Generators
Devices that produce hydroxyl radicals to neutralize odors.
Back to Glossary
Definition
Hydroxyl generators are deodorization devices that produce hydroxyl radicals—naturally occurring molecules that break down odors, bacteria, viruses, and volatile organic compounds. Unlike ozone, hydroxyl radicals are safe for occupied spaces, allowing treatment to continue while people, pets, and plants remain in the area. Hydroxyl generators are used for smoke odor removal, mold odor treatment, and general deodorization. They work more slowly than ozone but are safer for continuous use.
