Definition
Category 2 water, commonly called "gray water," contains significant contamination and has the potential to cause discomfort or sickness if consumed or exposed to. Sources include discharge from dishwashers or washing machines, overflow from washing machines, toilet bowl overflow with urine but no feces, sump pump failures, and aquarium leaks. Gray water requires more extensive cleaning and antimicrobial treatment during restoration.
